Albertson’s Shenanigans

For those who do not know, I have been working at my local Albertson’s for emergency cleaning and disinfecting. Some of my tasks include disinfecting empty shelves, bathrooms, the breakroom, checkstands and carts. On the night of the 18th, I was assigned to cleaning carts as customers take them into the store. During the last hour of my shift, I saw a white limo park taking up two parking spots and see three people with animal mascot heads on get out of the limo. I had to remind myself that I am currently working in order to hold in a ‘what the fuck am I looking at’ before asking if they need a cart. The animal crew said that was not necessary as they were just buying beer and asked me if the heads count as masks. Considering their heads were completely covered, I allowed them in. As they walked in, I look behind me to see my coworker’s reactions through the windows. I observed a combination of amazement, confusion, and ‘another night at Albertson’s’. After some time, they walked out with their beer and took off their heads exclaiming how hot it gets in those heads. I laughed and wished them a good night. Before leaving the parking lot, the limo drives by the entrance I am standing at and lets out a loud party-esque yell. I am not really enjoying my time at Albertson’s, but this little encounter was a nice reminder that all is not bad and I can put this on my blog.

  1. Sounds like a whole lot of non social distancing with that group. I am also not surprised this event has happened to you, it seems you see some weird things quite often. And it usually feels like this kind of stuff you see happens around night time, correct me if I am wrong. But at least this kind of stuff makes work less boring. Better this odd situation than something bad happen. Stay safe out there!

    1. It’s nice to have some entertainment while at work. It makes your time at work a little more easier. Good humor from people can go a long way sometimes to break the monotony of a everyday routine. Cool to know that people is still enjoying themselves during this time of being in quarantine.
