Introduction

Hello! My name is Brandon Montgomery McMillan and I am currently a student at California Institute of Arts & Technology (CIAT). I am starting this blog to post my ENG101 homework, to have an outlet to express myself, and to better my writing skills. I admit, I have no idea what I’ll post about later on, but I may as well start with an introduction of sorts and let the world know a little bit about me: I am 22 years old, I play the bass (more so in high school), I have a dog and 3 cats, and I like helping others. I enrolled at CIAT in the fall of 2019 to pursue a career in IT and make something of myself. I became A+ certified in December and currently working towards the Networking+ certificate.

  1. i found your blog to be short and concise. overall i found your post cool. i could not find any grammatical errors. in-addition you seem to fall into the APA format. with that said i feel a blog should be a area where one could express ones feeling without the overbearing forms hindering creativity? i look forward to reading more posts from you.

  2. Brandon,
Thank you for sharing a little insight into your life. It is really cool that you can play the bass. I know at one point of my life i want to learn how to play. Had my rock and roll dream when I was a kid. Was it hard to learn? Also congratulations on getting A+ certified. That is really the first step in the IT world, or at least the beginning of the door opening. Waiting to read more in the upcoming blogs.

  3. I enjoyed your post. You did a good job of telling the reader a bit about yourself. I feel that by giving a variety of interests and details, it gives the reader a greater chance to latch on to something and connect. The ending of your post did feel a bit abrupt to me. Adding another sentence to wrap everything up might make things flow a bit better.

  4. Good evening Brandon,
I enjoyed reading your post. Just like you I started my post last night as a requirement for English 101 homework. I also want to better my writing skills. With all the required writing assignments and blogs I am sure we will get plenty of practice learning how to write. I think that is great that you are pursuing your Network Security certificate. It will put you well ahead in your career than your average 22 year old. Wish you the best of luck in your career.

    Your classmate,
    Merv
